Printing Web Pages

All modern browsers have a facility for printing off Web pages. If you wish to print a particular page please use the Print Preview and print as desired. This is usually found under the File menu at the top left of the browser window.

Note that the above option will strip out most of the graphical content and simply print the text on the page in question. This will save printer ink. However, if you wish to have a hard copy of a particular page including the graphics you should copy the page you want and paste it into a Photo editing package such as PhotoShop. From here you can manipulate the image as required.

Here are the steps required in XP:

  • Open your Photo editing package.
  • Create a new file.
  • Switch to your browser window at desired Web page.
  • Maximize the browser window.
  • To copy/capture the current window, hold down ALT + Print Screen
  • Switch to the Photo editor and paste the screen shot using Ctrl and V at the same time.
  • Manipulate the image as desired and print and/or save.

You may find that the techniques vary slightly for Apple Mac and Linux.

Please use the menu or the browser Back button at top left to return to the page that you were viewing.

At the moment the a print style sheet may not be available for every web page. However, we are w orking on this. The print style sheet is incorporated into the template below the normal styel sheet link.
